Dollar General Corporation (NYSE: DG) has announced key leadership changes effective February 1, 2025.
Steve Deckard, formerly executive vice president of store operations and development, will transition to a new role as executive vice president of strategy and development, focusing on national footprint expansion, process improvement, and strategic initiatives.
Deckard’s extensive 19-year history with Dollar General, including leading the expansion into Mexico and overseeing pOpshelf, positions him well for this strategic shift.
Taking the helm as executive vice president of store operations is Tracey Herrmann. Herrmann, a 12-year Dollar General veteran, most recently served as senior vice president of store operations, leading three store divisions in the southeast.
She also has experience overseeing pOpshelf strategy and operations, as well as senior leadership roles in merchandising, pricing, and operations.
Dollar General CEO Todd Vasos expressed confidence in both leaders, citing Deckard’s deep operational knowledge and Herrmann’s drive for excellence and innovation as key assets for the company’s continued growth and success.
These leadership changes signal Dollar General’s ongoing commitment to expansion and enhancing customer and employee experiences across its more than 20,000 stores in 48 states.
