Ferrero Group Acquires Power Crunch Snack Company

The Ferrero Group, through its North American subsidiary, Ferrero North America has announced that it has singed an agreement with Bio-Nutritional Research Group, Inc to acquire the Power Crunch snack company.

Since its founding in 1996, Power Crunch has become known for its popular protein snacks. Recent growth has been driven by its diverse portfolio, which includes a variety of wafer bars and the newly launched (2024) high-protein crisps.

Power Crunch offers a variety of popular products, including Protein Crisps, Protein Energy Bars, Kids Protein Snacks, Pro High Protein Bars, and Proto Whey Protein Powder.

Approximately 50 employees from Power Crunch’s Irvine, California, office will join the Ferrero Group in North America as part of the acquisition.

This acquisition further strengthens Ferrero’s presence in the better-for-you market, following its European acquisitions of FULFIL and Eat Natural. It also marks another step in Ferrero’s U.S. expansion, which has included the integration of chocolate brands Butterfinger, Baby Ruth, and CRUNCH, as well as cookie brands Keebler, Famous Amos, and Mother’s. Iowa-based Wells Enterprises joined the Ferrero Group in 2022.

Closure of the transaction is expected within the coming weeks, contingent upon customary closing conditions.
