DES MOINES, Iowa – Landus Cooperative has announced the appointment of Sam Caton as its interim CEO, effective immediately.
In addition to the role of interim CEO, Caton will maintain his responsibilities as the executive vice president of sales at the company. This decision follows the recent departure of the previous CEO.

“We have full confidence in Sam’s abilities to guide Landus forward as the interim CEO,” says Matt Chambers, Chairman of the Landus Board. He believes Caton’s understanding of operations and vision has given him a sincere appreciation for the farmer-owners.
Caton brings over two decades of agricultural industry experience to the role.
Previously, as the business unit director of the Northern Region at Simplot, Caton oversaw business integrations. He doesn’t shy away from his roots, as he owned and operated an 8,000-acre family farm and cattle ranch before moving into sales.
Caton’s primary focus will be leading the search for Landus’s next CEO. He plans to engage with the cooperative’s farmer-owners to understand their expectations for the new CEO.
I’ll be establishing an open line of communication with our farmer-owners to hear directly from them on what they want to see from the next CEO of the cooperative,
Caton says.

During this transition, Landus says it remains committed to its farmer-owners, employees, business partners, and the future of agriculture.
