Valeo Foods Acquires Italian Sweet Bakery Producer Freddi Dolciaria

London, UK – Valeo Foods Group, a leading European producer of sweets, treats, and snacks, has acquired Freddi Dolciaria S.p.A, an Italian sweet bakery producer.

The announcement highlights that this acquisition will accelerate growth in the South-West European region and enhance Valeo’s position in the bakery sector.

Freddi was founded in 1949 and specializes in sponge cakes and has an established presence in both the Italian retail and international markets, with an annual turnover approaching €20 million and 48 employees.

This acquisition strengthens Valeo Foods Group’s position in the packaged wafers, cakes, and biscuits category, complementing the existing Balconi business across Southern Europe and international markets. Freddi is expected to drive sustainable, profitable growth and enhance production capacity and operational efficiency.

This marks Valeo’s continued expansion in the region, following the acquisitions of Balconi in 2015, Val D’Enza in 2017, IDP Pattini in 2023, Dal Colle in 2025 and I.D.C. Holdings.
