Certainly! Making a Jamaican sorrel drink with rum-infused gummy bears can be a delightful and unique treat. Sorrel is a popular Caribbean drink made from hibiscus flowers, and adding rum-infused gummy bears gives it an extra fun twist. Here’s a recipe for you:

Jamaican Sorrel Drink with Rum-Infused Gummy Bears
Ingredients:
For the Sorrel Drink:
- 2 cups dried sorrel petals (hibiscus flowers)
- 8 cups water
- 1 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 piece of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
- 5-6 pimento seeds (allspice)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 orange peel (optional)
- 1 cup rum (optional, for adult version)
For the Rum-Infused Gummy Bears:
- 1 cup gummy bears
- 1 cup rum (use a dark or spiced rum for more flavour)
Instructions:
Prepare the Sorrel Drink:
- Rinse the dried sorrel petals under cold water.
- In a large pot, bring the sorrel petals, water, sugar, ginger, pimento seeds, cinnamon stick, and orange peel (if using) to a boil.
- Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let the sorrel mixture steep until it reaches room temperature.
- Strain the liquid to remove the sorrel petals and spices.
- If making an alcoholic version, stir in the rum. Adjust the sweetness to taste by adding more sugar if needed.
Prepare the Rum-Infused Gummy Bears:
- Place the gummy bears in a bowl.
- Pour the rum over the gummy bears, making sure they are fully submerged.
- Let the gummy bears soak in the rum for at least a few hours or overnight in the refrigerator. The longer they soak, the more they’ll absorb the rum flavour. They will only grow in size and soften a bit more the longer you soak them.
Serve:
- Chill the sorrel drink in the refrigerator.
- When ready to serve, add a handful of rum-infused gummy bears to each glass.
- Pour the chilled sorrel drink over the gummy bears.
Enjoy Responsibly:
- If serving the alcoholic version, remind guests or consumers that the drink contains alcohol.
This Jamaican Sorrel Drink with Rum-Infused Gummy Bears is a festive and refreshing beverage with a Caribbean twist. It’s perfect for parties or a unique drink experience. Cheers!
